New Gen Psychology
Meet Dr. Stephanie
Clinical Psychologist
I believe in making space for sitting with negative emotions rather than bottling them up inside. Instead of letting pain creep into our daily lives through substance abuse, eating disorders, and toxic relationships, why not just talk about these feelings to process their underlying meaning? Why not experience these emotions without judgment because they are simply another facet of the human experience?
If you are looking for a safe space to process painful feelings and experiences, I welcome you to look into New Gen Psychology. I will always be intentional about creating a warm and open environment for self-expression and values-based living. I will accept you regardless of the good and the bad because I believe in treating all humans with unconditional positive regard. Let’s make meaning out of pain and explore together.
What I Specialize In
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
CBT is a therapy supported by extensive research for a wide variety of concerns ranging from depression to stress management. CBT teaches useful coping skills whether you are experiencing a difficult life transition or hope to build assertiveness skills in relationships.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy
DBT is an evidence-based treatment originally developed for individuals with borderline personality disorder (BPD). However, skills from this therapy have since been used to help with many types of challenges from difficulty managing negative emotions to how to develop more effective and healthy relationship patterns.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
ACT is a humanistic and empirically-supported treatment that teaches patients who to navigate painful thoughts and emotions. It is often effective for patients who have not experienced benefits from more traditional forms of CBT because it is more philosophical in its approach.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
MSBR is a therapy that incorporates skills from mindfulness and tenets of Buddhism to help patients live a more present and peaceful life. Mindfulness comes in a variety of forms, whether through physical exercise, meditation, to eating a mindful meal.
